Success Story from a NARCONON Student
While on the objectives course I realized that my sense of perception is much higher sober than when I was on drugs.
My photographic memory has definitely increased. When I was on drugs I thought that my sense of awareness was heightened, when in fact it was the exact opposite.
If you know someone who has lost their perception and is making bad decisions because of drug abuse, call Narconon 877-413-3073

My Wednesday
Ok, Where should I start. I guess I will start with this morning. I always work from home on Wednesday's. It's easier to get a few more things done for NARCONON if I am home because it's private and I can get personal with people if they would like to talk about DRUGS and/or ALCOHOL abuse. I did call in to check on the office of NARCONON today and we did get a new student which makes me happy. That is one more person that we can help get rid of their ADDICTION. The rest of my day went as follows....I had to take my son to get stitches out of his little head. I felt so bad...then we went to my in-laws house and had an awesome dinner. We came home and it is bath night for the boys so they got their bath and I changed their linens on their bed. (I can't stand dirty sheets!). Anyway, it's time for my bath and beddy bye time so I can get up in the morning and go to work at NARCONON and help more and more people get off of drugs. If they only knew what a sober life feels like. It makes a difference when you play with your children. It really does!I will blog tomorrow! Till then nite nite!

Yellow Tape
What’s In Your Medicine Cabinet?
Many American medicine cabinets need yellow crime scene tape in front of them. They have become the scene of some serious crimes.
Recently and amazingly enough a potentially lethal crime was perpetrated on my aging mother. Looking in her medicine cabinet for relief from minor discomfort she saw a bottle that said oxycodine. Remembering as a child the relief she got from cough syrup with codeine and mistaking it for the same thing she took a swig. She drove a half mile down the road to make her doctor’s appointment and ran into the dumpster in the parking lot. She composed herself enough to walk into the office then nearly collapsed on the floor in a drunken like stupor, remarking to the front desk that she had never had such a reaction to codeine before.
Obviously the lethal weapon has been taken away from her and her medicine cabinet searched. She is not one for medication so we did not find anything else. But the point is that this highly educated scholar and author found herself in an embarrassing situation because she had a bottle in her cabinet with a label she did not understand and no obvious visible warning on the possible hazards.
Benzos, opiates, stimulants – What’s In Your Medicine Cabinet? Find out for sure and take action to keep everyone safe.
If some pills are missing then get out the yellow crime scene tape and find the perpetrator before real damage occurs.
With billions of dollars of sales of pharmaceuticals, drugs have to be kept somewhere and that somewhere is usually the medicine cabinet.

My Monday and this morning
Yesterday was a really awesome day at work at NARCONON. I got many things accomplished and there it seemed that the office was running smoothly all day. It did help that I was in an awesome Go NARCONON mood. We were contacted by several people wanting treatment either for themselves or their family members. It was great. I got to talk about how great NARCONON is. Well, this morning I tried to get to work but several factors stopped me but that's ok I can still help people from the house. If anyone needs anything they can call me at home or my cell. I never stop working for NARCONON. As I have said before it is a 24 hour a day business and I am on board no matter what the issue. Well, I must start working or I won't be able to help people get off of drugs and alcohol. I will blog later!

Binge Drinking
We need the next generation to prepare itself for leadership by gaining knowledge through study. This is a little harder to do with an impaired mind. In other words, we don’t need binge drinking in high school and college.
Apparently, according to research, binge drinkers suffer from memory impairment and possible physical harm to their still forming brains.
“Researcher Thomas Heffernan and colleagues from Northumbria University and Kent University gave memory tests to a group of 26 binge drinkers ages 17-19 to a group of 34 non binge drinkers. The male binge drinkers consumed at least eight units of alcohol at one sitting, while the women had at least six units at one time.” (Reported by Join Together)
There are other obvious possible distractions to the binge drinker such as car accidents, DUIs and arrests – not helpful in preparing for the future or studying for exams.
Alcohol has always been around campuses – however it seemed like the majority of the students had enough sense to not ruin their lives through binge drinking and it was the minority that wasn’t really expected to set the world on fire anyway. With the recent “wizard stick” parties being promoted on the internet, we cannot assume that this is now the case. Someone needs to take heed and provide drug and alcohol education and enlighten these kids in a way that communicates.
If you need drug education brochures, we will provide them for you. If you know someone who is binge drinking they need help. Call us and we will help you get them help. We can help with interventions too.

My weekend
Geez, my weekend.....Where to start. Well I didn't have to go into work at NARCONON this weekend but that never stops me from doing something a little extra. I enjoy my job so much that I continue doing it since rehab is a 24 hour a day 7 day a week job. Anyway, yesterday we ended up at my brother in laws house for a little family reunion and I got to see my inlaws, all my nephews and 1 niece and my great nephew. It was great! Of course that didn't stop me from working on NARCONON things. We had hamburgers, hotdogs on the grill. YUMMY! My brother in law can cook! We left there picked up my husbands waitress for work and then her daughter watched my boys at my house so I could get a little more work done, yeap you guess it NARCONON. Anyway, I finally laid down about 10:30pm and got up about 9am this morning. I decided I wasn't going anywhere today I was just going to check emails from NARCONON and my personal emails. So that is what I did but somehow I messed up my server so I can't send messages out right now. ARGH, it's so annoying. Anyway, I am going to get ready for a wonderful Monday at Narconon. I always love to go in even though sometimes I just can't get there because it is so far. But the drive is so well worth it when I see the recovery coming out of the building. Anyway, I will blog tomorrow night! Till then....thats my boring weekend :-)1-877-413-3073

My day
My day started normally about 7:10 am this morning. Alarm went off and I knew it was time to go to Narconon of Ga to work and help people. I always wake up looking forward to it. Anyway, I got ready and left for work and worked myself through the Atlanta traffic of Friday morning, YUCK! I got to Narconon about 9:30 to start my day that is usually suppose to start about 10am. I always like to be early rather than late. Anyway, I finally got a key to my house and I was sooo excited about it! I started working on different things for Narconon and how to get the word out about the program. Lots of ideas flooded my head. I keep thinking, I work for a drug education and rehabilitation center, what better job could I have to help people? My bosses started coming in one by one finally the last got there about 12. We did our educational videos and talked with the students like we do everyday. Well, today was a little special, in the middle of our Friday meeting I was called and told my son was being rushed to the hospital because he busted his head open! I am almost an hour from home and my son is 1. Needless to say I freaked. I told my bosses at Narconon and they of course told me I could leave whenever I needed to. I finally left about 4 pm rushing home. Of course, more traffic! I didn't get to the hospital until 6:30!!! Geez...I couldn't believe it but he was ok. Just hungry because he had been there for so long. Well, I am now home and it is really time to try and wind down and go to bed and start again tomorrow. It's Saturday so it's all family time. More later......

Academy Award Winner Louis Gossett Jr. Joins Tens of Thousands of Americans Rallying in 80 Communities, Celebrating Recovery from Addiction
Recovery Bill of Rights to be released, calling nation to action to end the cycle of addiction
Last update: 10:48 a.m. EDT Sept. 19, 2008
ST. LOUIS, Sept 19, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Academy-Award Winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. will join tens of thousands of people taking part Saturday in the national Rally for Recovery, which will be recognized with events in more than 80 communities across the United States.
This year, participants will also hail the release of the Recovery Bill of Rights, a statement of the principle that all Americans have a right to recover from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, during a ceremony at The Chain of Rocks Bridge Park in St. Louis. The Hands Across the Bridge event will serve as the national hub for activities happening nationwide.
"The Recovery Bill of Rights is a call to action for our elected officials and community leaders to break the cycle of addiction by empowering people who need treatment and ending housing and employment discrimination against people in recovery," said U.S. Representatives Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) and Jim Ramstad (R-MN), who are both in long-term recovery from addiction.
The goal of Saturday's events is to speak out for improved local, state and federal policies and to demonstrate the reality of recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Participants are members of the recovery community, their friends, families and allies, who put a face and a voice on recovery from addiction and call for improved local, state and federal policies so that others in their communities may get the help they need. At the rallies, they will have an opportunity to personally endorse The Recovery Bill of Rights.
Gossett, who is in long-term recovery from addiction, is the keynote speaker at the St. Louis event and will join hands in unity with more than 1,000 people in forming a human chain across the bridge linking Missouri and Illinois.
Faces & Voices of Recovery, the leading national organization mobilizing those in long-term recovery from addiction, is the sponsor and organizer for Saturday's event, which coincides with National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
"We are rallying for recovery to help make change happen at all levels," said Carol McDaid, chair of Faces & Voices of Recovery. "Our focus today and every day is on the rights of people struggling with addiction to get well and the rights of people who are no longer using alcohol or other drugs to get their lives back together. We will be distributing The Recovery Bill of Rights to doctors, schools, treatment and community centers across the country."

Narconon Sauna Detoxification Success Story
My drug and alcohol history includes 30 years of intermittent chronic and acute drinking, most recently a three month drinking binge resulting in medical detox and admission to Narconon. Drug use includes heavy narcotic and muscle relaxant use due to 4 major surgeries, pre and post op pain. Of particular note during the past two years is an abusive marriage and resultant divorce. My ex-husband proceeded to stalk me and I lost my ability to sleep, rest, relax or even think clearly. I develop anxiety, insomnia and had panic attacks.
The Narconon sauna process restored my ability to sleep. I am usually rested now and rarely experience any anxiety at all. I haven’t had a panic attack since I arrived here. My social interests have mostly been restored.
Sauna and rest have had a remarkable effect on my mental acuity. Where I was having treat difficulty recalling names, dates facts and events, I now easily access chat information without effort. My vocabulary is restored. I would characterize my mind prior to sauna as “full”. I seemed unable to take in new information or problem solve in the moment. These difficulties disappeared rapidly in sauna.
The sauna had an amazing effect on y skin, making it shiny and soft. My eyes are clearer than I can recall. I feel “pretty” for the first time in a long time.
I absolutely feel ready to participate in the next phase of Narconon and in life in general. Thank you for this opportunity.
