This article shows that we CAN have a positive influence on our teens, despite the negative and dangerous messages that come at them everyday through the internet and television. According to this article in Join Together:
“Researchers say that half of teen MySpace sites include references to sex, drug use, or other high-risk behavior, with 41 percent of sites studied featuring drug-related information, Reuters reported Jan. 6.
In one study, researcher Dimitri Christakis of Seattle Children's Research Institute and Megan Moreno of the University of Wisconsin looked at randomly chosen profiles of 18-year-olds on the social-networking site MySpace and found that 54 percent of profiles available to the public showed information regarding high risk behavior.
The researchers sent messages to 95 adults ages 18 to 20 whose profiles showed risky behavior, warning them of the risks of sharing such information on the internet and providing a link to a website with information about sexually transmitted diseases. A second study found that many of the subjects subsequently removed references to sex and substance abuse or limited viewing privileges on their profiles.”
The good news is that some teens responded to warnings about sharing certain information on the web and removed the references to sex and substance abuse from their sites.
The point is that no one was sending these teens the positive message they needed – when they got it, there was response.
We can’t let our kids continue to play in the middle of the information highway where they can be hit from any side by deadly information without at least a few crossing guards to help them to safety.
Narconon can help with drug education. There is a lot of drug talk on the web and kids can get into trouble. We talk straight and we talk truth. 877-413-3073

Being Negative
Here is another success story from today. It is from a Narconon student and it represents a life saved.
“I realize when I choose people or things I like, it makes my happy. Whenever I think of anything bad, my mood drops. I don’t even have to say it out loud and the negativity has a bad effect on me. I don’t even have to say it out loud and the negativity has a bad effect on me. The same happens when I permit good things or people to remain in place. I also feel much better when I dispense with bad things or situations.
I have to make the conscious decision to have good things and people so I remain happy and sober as well as dispense with the bad to keep my sobriety and happiness also.
After naming objects that I could have I realized that certain things that I can have open doors to other wonderful things. Having this program allows me to have my sobriety and happiness. Having my education allows me to have a good career and have a successful life. Once I obtain certain larger things in my life. I also gain a plethora of other good things. Setting large goals gives me the determination to get them and have all of the ripple effects. I also gain a plethora of other good things. Setting large goals gives me the determination to get them and have all of the ripple effects as well.
The staff of Narconon endeavor to help anyone move from drug addiction to these wins. We just need to find the people who need and want the chance at a new life.

Coming to a realization
I know that I could have, let things stay in place, or dispense of anything in the room or in my life. I realized when I choose people or things I like to have I am happy. Whenever I think of anything bad I my mood drops. I don't even have to say it out loud and the negativity has a bad effect on me. The same happens when I permit good things or people to remain in place. I also feel much better when I dispense of bad people around me as well as bad things such as cigarettes. I know I have the power to do all 3 things to anything but I have to make the concsious decision to have good things and people so I remain happy and sober as well as dispense the bad to keep my soberity and happiness also.
After naming objects that I could have, I realized that certain things that I can have open doors to other wonderful things. Having this program allows me to have my soberity and happiness. Rebuilding
Here is another success story from a Narconon of Georgia student. The success story bodes well for the future of this student in 2009.
“It is essential to be aware of what you can have from your environment that serves your benefit. It is also crucial to be aware of distractions and counter productive things in y our environment. Interact embrace and obtain things that you need and that promoted wellness within. Ignore of the worldly things and people who seek to deviate wellness and promote more negative than positives.
Rebuilding my world is easy. I choose to interact with things that serve me well. Symbiotic relationships are necessary for progress. I dispense of poisons and have success.
I have good things so I allow them to remain in place as long as they stay good.”
This could be the success story of anyone – whether it be a heroin, cocaine, or Oxycontin user. Narconon success carries on. 877-413-3073

Obstacles
Here is another Narconon success. I hope that it makes it way to someone who needs some hope – The hope we give is real.
“Life throws many obstacles at you. There is always a way around or though those obstacles. One always has a choice. One should assess the situation, analyze the best way to get through it and then choose the appropriate course of action that best benefits himself and his environment.
If I am offered a drug, I can accept or decline. The obstacle is the drug, the choices are simple, but the course of action is much more complex.
If I decline, I maintain a body and mind of sound quality or even strengthen it. Also the environment and those in it can stay the same or hopefully I can affect them and that environment positively. By saying “no”, some might see the error in their ways and the environment has one less affected subject. Any progress no matter if slight or large is progress. The potential is the point here. In the process of declining to use the potential for positive growth in me, those around me and the environment is greater.”
Narconon is the New life program and we have successes like this every day. Whether it is heroin, methamphetamine, pot, cocaine or oxycontin – the result is the same – a new life. 877-413-3073

Eye of the Storm
Narconon Success Story
In the eye of the storm there is stillness. Chaos surrounds me on all sides and the sound of whipping winds invades my ear canals and shakes the drums deep into my body. Fear is the last thing on my mind. There is a calmness that sits inside me, knowing that for now, I am safe.
A question resonates from the inside out….will I remain here or will this storm shift and swallow my spirit into this mess that is worldly? My mind yells to my body to hold tight and hold steady. This is the safest place you can be. This is where you want to be and this is where you shall remain. Do not allow your eyes to wander and grow weary with what surrounds you. Live from inside yourself and out and you will defy the odds.
I am as pure and calm as the eye of this storm. I do not sway – I sustain.
This is a Narconon success as only a genuine Narconon can produce.

Drug Paraphenalia
Oil Companies Take Action but they need to do more
It is a great idea that gas stations are taking measures to ensure that they are not the purveyors of cigarettes to underage smokers, but what about the drug paraphernalia that is in many of these locations.
Blunts, crack pipe, papers and scales are for sale, along with other items and most likely minors can buy these quite easily. The places are magnets for dealers – what better place to find your customers?
Cleaning up our gas station/convenience stores starts really with each of us, not the oil companies.
Next time you are at a convenience store check to see what paraphernalia is for sale. Note down the address and inform others in the neighborhood what is really going on in these places. The majority of citizens don’t want drugs in their neighborhood.
Also look around your environment. If items like spoons, light bulbs and brillo pads are out of place, look for the drug addict in your life and get them some help.
Those struggling with addiction or those who want more information on how to clean up their community can visit www.drugsno.com or call 877-413-3073.
Together we can take back our communities. It is up to us.

My superb Monday
My super Monday here at NARCONON really was great. I got to see students come in from the weekend completely sober many of whom went home for visits with their families. I just talked to someone this morning and they said they had come to a realization that they are better sober than on drugs and she had never realized how much she had missed with her kids. That really made me feel good. The NARCONON program is really doing work in so many ways. We here at NARCONON are educating the public including schools and we provide a treatment center for those who need the help. It's great. I could not be happier where I work!

Drug Dealers
Have you ever noticed on TV how broke some drug dealers actually appear? The COPS show often features an army of police charging into the house where the dealer lives. The house usually does not have many people in it – not enough to warrant a whole platoon barging in. There are often children, enveloped in squalor, with a bleary eyed dealer father staggering in front of the camera to be arrested.
The dealer was probably lured into thinking he could make big money by dealing, but at least the dealers we see on TV aren’t making the big bucks. There is always someone at the bottom of the money chain, making pennies on the dollar compared to their upline’s take. Hopefully some big guys get arrested, but we don’t see it.
Whether it is crack cocaine, pot or heroin – the risks are the same. Someone who sells drugs is putting their whole future on the line. In addition to stunting their education and careers, they risk losing everything to jail and an indelible record, which limits career opportunity.
If they are dealing to feed their own addiction, the situation is even worse.
Anyone alive deserves better than this.
If you know someone needs drug treatment and is going down a wrong path, get them into effective drug treatment.

The last couple of days....
The last 2 days have been very stressful for me. I am doing all of my work for NARCONON at home. I can't find gas anywhere in Atlanta and if you happen to find it you will pay big time for it and wait for hours in line! It's ridiculous...Anyway, the only thing keeping me focused is the work at NARCONON that I do. At least some of it I can do from home. I can post blogs about addiction and getting help. I really enjoy helping people and I couldn't ask for a better way to help them than to help them get their lives back through NARCONON. I brings happiness all around to see someone graduation or see someone's family come and see them and the smiles all around because they know NARCONON is making such a difference in their lives. Well, I am going to get to work, I will blog later.

Alcohol
Someone needs to get the message across to kids that a life with alcohol can become a life that is really no fun. While there is no lack of communication about the virtues of alcohol, including the example set by adults, there is a dearth of information that contradicts the extolled virtues of drinking.
Even the reasoning voice of a parent can be droned out by magazine ads and television promoting the youthfulness and fun of alcohol. No one in these ads looks the least bit compromised by the alcohol – in fact it appears alcohol makes them gorgeous and confident. No one is stumbling about.
We need a third party communication that kids will accept that teaches them the real dangers of alcohol.
Narconon drug education is that. It is interactive and kids like it. They learn through communication, not being lectured at.
Call us if you need more information.
If someone you know got the message too late and has a drinking problem, call us at 877-413-3073. We are the New Life Program and we have a 76% success rate.

Monday at NARCONON
My Monday at NARCONON..It started out very well which for a Monday morning in Atlanta it's a good thing. Traffic wasn't bad at all and I actually got to work early. WOOHOOO! I came in and started working on all my work at NARCONON to get my week started off right. The students started coming in and they were really happy and go lucky for a Monday morning! I realized we had 5 more new students here at NARCONON which is always a good sign. It means that we are really on track to help people with their addictions. It makes me feel good knowing that they will succeed and join their families in a few months clean and sober! After all the introductions I proceeded through my day. We are going to have 1 graduation this week here at NARCONON and I am thrilled! I will definetely blog about that one this week. I got home at 7:15pm last night and had a great night with my kids and my husband. We watched wrestling (our Monday night thing as a family, I know redneck :-) ) I went to bed about 11:15pm and now I am back at work on this beautiful Tuesday morning. I am blessed to be here and today is going to be an awesome day.....

Mandatory Sentencing
According to a recent poll, sixty percent of Americans oppose laws mandating minimum prison terms for non-violent crimes, such as drug offenses, according to the Christian Monitor.
Mandatory sentencing means that there is no individual justice. A Judge, upon seeing someone turn their life around, after a drug related brush with the law, must give them the same sentence as someone who has no intention to improve their lot. The only similarity is the drugs they were caught with. This leaves the courts, not the Judges imposing the sentence.
This means that more individuals realize that mandatory sentencing laws for drug possession can make effective drug rehab meaningless in the eyes of the law. An offender, who is a drug abuser, may be charged with a drug related crime, graduate from successful drug treatment and turn their life around, only to be sent to prison. There is no one who benefits from this and society could lose potentially productive individuals to prison where they are likely to be ruined.
Is it any wonder that we have the highest per capita rate of incarceration in the world?
Hopefully the public will make their voices heard about this issue. After all, they are the ones footing the bill.

NARCONON Success Story 2
I recently had some great realizations and a few of them have been at home. Most of the time I experience them while laying in bed just before I got to sleep, however the past cognition I had yesterday while in the gym working out.
I realized how out of shape, I’ve let myself become and that I haven’t been in a gym in years and that this is a direct result of doing drugs. You see, many years I was to drugged up or sedated to have energy or care about my physique. I mostly realized that have been robbed of my ambition in all aspects of my life. I have not followed through on a single thing in many years.
I’ve defiantly noticed how easy it is to commit to things now and how ambitious I’ve been lately. My body will now be in better shape and my life can be in better shape too! I’ve been working out everyday and I’m ready to make some long term goals and commitments to improve my life!
My ambitions is back baby!!

NARCONON Success Story 1
During the objectives course, I realized it is much easier to bring something into your life than it is to get rid of that thing. It was really easy (and fun) to bring drugs in to my life, but it became a monster that I could not put away. That is the nature of the sin and wickedness. It presents itself to you as something attractive and easy to possess. Before you realize the danger, you have become a slave to that evil, and can’t get out. I must be extremely careful of what I allow into, life. I must learn to recognize good and evil as it truly is, and be deceived. If you or a family needs help please contact NARCONON at

Drug Prevention in Communities
Drug Prevention in Drug Free Communities
Investing in drug prevention is worthwhile according to a new report from the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The report says that alcohol and drug use is down in those communities with Drug Free Coalition Funding – in fact, 10 to 23 % lower than the national average.
Though the financial gain to a community and a country cannot probably be accurately assessed at this time, the long term gain is apparent. Fewer drug abusers means less crime, more productivity and fewer health problems.
The Drug Free Communities are made of community leaders, teachers etc and grants are available for those organizations that facilitate citizen participation.
The value of life is improved for individuals and their families and money can be spent on vacations, rather than rehab.
This is probably the most logical and sound investment that any of us have seen in a long time, with a realistic and measurable return on investment. Let’s hope more get involved.

The value of life is improved for individuals and their families and money can be spent on vacations, rather than rehab.
This is probably the most logical and sound investment that any of us have seen in a long time, with a realistic and measurable return on investment. Let’s hope more get involved.

My Friday and beyond.....
My day at NARCONON started out just trying to get there. Here in Atlanta there is no gas to be found and when you find it you have to wait an hour or longer to get it. It is so ridiculous! Anyway, I made it to NARCONON on time and immediately started setting up for what would be a very productive day at NARCONON. We had 2 student birthdays which is always fun. It's always nice to see the students drug-free, many celebrating there birthdays sober and clean for the first time since childhood. It really brings a smile to your face to see them happy and they know that NARCONON really does care about them. I worked really hard yesterday and left work and didn't get home for 3 hours because you guess it GAS! I mean geez....How am I suppose to help these people if I can't even do anything. But I have gas now and I am home and today is Saturday and I plan on spending it with my boys! I go back to NARCONON on Monday.....

My day....
My day at NARCONON was my first day back in the office for a couple of days which always makes for a hectic start to the day. Today at NARCONON was very productive however. I talked to several family members about helping get their family members off drugs and I even talked to a probation officer who is going to recommend sentencing to our facility because of th 76% success rate. I love seeing people walk out of NARCONON drug free and/or alcohol free. They just fall into their famliies arms and it warms my heart. Today I made sure more radio stations got our new Public Service Announcement about the danger of Prescription Drugs that is on the rise with our teenagers. It is truly a scary thought! I am just thankful for the opportunity to help everyone whip the addiction. Well, it's time to get the kids ready for bed and then it's off to bed for me and the hunt for gas in Atlanta will be on tomorrow morning! Wish me luck! My town is completely out of gas.....YUCK!
